HARA

Also known as: Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment

Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment — derives safety goals and ASILs from operational hazards.

HARA (ISO 26262 Part 3) systematically identifies hazardous events at the item level, scores Severity, Exposure, and Controllability for each, and derives Safety Goals plus their ASIL. It is the safety counterpart to TARA — and on programmes that need both, joint HARA-TARA workshops keep the analyses consistent.
