AUTOSAR's layered architecture for deeply embedded ECUs running on real-time microcontrollers.
AUTOSAR Classic is the long-standing automotive software architecture for resource-constrained, real-time ECUs. It standardises the basic-software (BSW) layers (MCAL, ECU abstraction, services), the runtime environment (RTE), and a model-based application-component layer driven by ARXML system descriptions.
