SHE

Also known as: Secure Hardware Extension

Secure Hardware Extension — a lightweight HSM-style specification predating EVITA Light.

SHE (Secure Hardware Extension) is an early HSM-style specification originally published by the HIS group. It defines a small set of cryptographic operations and keys baked into automotive microcontrollers. SHE-only ECUs have known limits (no asymmetric crypto, restricted key set) and are usually augmented by an EVITA-style HSM in modern designs.
