Hardware-in-the-Loop testing — ECU under test on a bench with simulated plant and stimuli.
HIL benches (typically dSPACE or ETAS) connect a real ECU to a simulated plant model and CAN/Ethernet stimuli for closed-loop and fault-injection testing. HIL is where robustness, edge-case scenarios, and final pre-vehicle integration tests run.
