CAN FD

Also known as: CAN with Flexible Data-rate

CAN with Flexible Data-rate — extended payload (up to 64 bytes) and higher bit rate.

CAN FD extends classic CAN with a switchable data-phase bit rate and a 64-byte payload. Its larger frames make it the natural carrier for SecOC-protected messages and short OTA chunks; many modern E/E architectures run mixed CAN / CAN FD networks.
