Component, function, data flow, or property of an item whose compromise can cause harm.
In ISO/SAE 21434 a cybersecurity asset is anything inside the item whose compromise could lead to a damage scenario — an ECU, a data flow, a key, a calibration, an in-vehicle communication path, or a function. Each asset is paired with cybersecurity properties (confidentiality, integrity, availability, authenticity) and SFOP impact ratings per Annex F.
