Certificate Management

Lifecycle of X.509 (or equivalent) certificates used to bind public keys to identities.

Certificate management includes issuance, distribution, validation, renewal, and revocation. Automotive deployments usually run an OEM-controlled PKI with offline root CAs and online intermediate issuers; on-vehicle revocation lists or short-lived certificates handle the field-update problem.
